As I look over the many photographs I took during last month’s trip to Quebec, it strikes me that there are an inordinate number of food pictures – photos of appetizers and salads, of entrées and desserts.  And not just of my choices, either.  Seldom did the five of us order the same thing and almost every selection was a photo op!

Perhaps it had to do with the restaurants and bistros we chose.  However, except in a few cases, we lunched and dined in places that happened to be handy and, almost without exception, the meals were delicious and the presentation fabulous.  I think I could recommend a trip to the Eastern Townships of Quebec based on food, alone.  Anywhere and everywhere our meals were a delight to look at as well as to eat!

And, it occurs to me that even though most of my selections looked to be loaded with calories, I returned weighing the exact same amount as when I left!  We did a fair amount of walking which must have been the great equalizer weight-wise (at least for me) so I’m glad I didn’t waste so much as a minute feeling guilty about the delectable choices I made.

Come to think of it, sampling the food – at restaurants, in markets, at festivals and fairs – is one of the greatest pleasures of traveling.  And what could be better than guilt-free eating!  I’m all about planning the next adventure!
