Last night we watched “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” – probably for the leventy-leventh time. It came out in 1973 and I don’t know if it’s been on TV for all forty-three years since then, but from the way I was mouthing the words. I’m sure I’ve seen it for nearly that many. And I love it every time!
Sort of like turkey with all the trimmings. And gathering with friends and family. And thinking about our blessings and our loved ones who can’t be with us. It’s hard to be full of angst and anger on Thanksgiving. I’m glad about that because we need a respite from our trials and tribulations.
We are off to be thankful with Kuzzin Kris and some of her family members. It will be the first time in several months that we’ve seen Kris and the very first time we’ve seen her in her new place in Eugene. We are eager to learn how she has settled in and what new adventures she’s in the midst of.
“We’ll have a lot of fun!” she told me on the phone. That’s her mantra. It’s always Kris’s promise, prayer, and goal all wrapped into one joyful package! We are thankful to be included because we know it will be a day to remember.
