Double J and the Boys

     If you haven’t heard Double J and the Boys, you’ve missed a treat.  Their music is funny, thought-provoking, and toe-tapping.  You may have the urge to sing along and you may even have the opportunity.
     There are Judy Eron on guitar and oboe, Janet Clark on fiddle and mandolin, (the “double J” part), Bill Clark on tenor guitar and tenor banjo, John Hillison on bass, and Charlie Watkins on accordion (the “and the boys” part). According to their publicity, “their music swings from high energy fiddle tunes to tearful old country songs, from waltzes to tangos.  Their vocals have a country/folk flavor, some traditional, some funny originals by Judy, all with rich, layered harmonies.”  We can absolutely attest to that!
     We feel lucky that they have agreed to do a House Concert here in Oysterville.  It’s happening a week from today, on Sunday, October 3rd.  For the first time ever, we are suggesting that the House Concert have a theme and that people come in a touch of western garb – a neckerchief, boots, something fringy.  Not a must, of course, but do leave those six-shooters at home.
     The other first-ever part of this House Concert is talking about it ahead of time on Facebook!  In the ten years of our Oysterville House Concerts, we’ve never before ‘gone public’ as they say.  But, it still requires a reserved seat, so if you might want to attend and you need to know the details – like when, where, what to bring – contact me at sydney@willapabay.org.  First come, first served.  Yipee-ky-yo-ky-aye!
