The Outlook in Oysterville: Excellent!

One To GoThe last window went in at the Wachsmuth House yesterday!  Whoo Hoo!  A little caulking, a little trim, and the house will be closed in and ready for the electricians and plumbers and sheetrockers… oh my!

It just happened that I had the urge to go take a look at how they were coming along right when all but one of the windows had been installed.  Tom-the-Builder was working outside and Tucker-the-Homeowner on the inside. They were just about to put the last of the seven east-facing sunroom windows in place.  They had begun the installation at 3:30 and it was not quite 5:00 – not all that long for seven big windows.  Or at least that’s how it seemed to me.  What a team!

Seven DoneAnd what a difference those seven windows make!  I can’t decide if it’s that they are tall and narrow or if it’s that they have so many small panes or if it’s the bright red trim color.  Whatever it is, the view from our house just makes me smile.  Those windows make the house look so cheerful and inviting and somehow reflect (ahem!) the happy outlook (ahem, again!) of the entire Wachsmuth family.

CongratulationsWhile I was taking pictures, Carol came over from across the way and invited me to go inside with her.  What a difference that sunny, bright addition is going to make!  Tom came in, too, and he and Tucker pulled up chairs and sat down to admire their handiwork.  It was definitely a milestone in their house building project.  I felt lucky to be there to share in the excitement!

Have been watching the progress from start to finish. Looks like it’s getting close to finish.

The red trim is perfect. I think of the rainy days to come and how looking at those windows will bring cheer to one and all in Oysterville.
