Andrew Emlen

They were fabulous!  They played our favorites, their favorites (which were also our favorites, new pieces ( which are our new favorites) and old standbys (and we sang along.)

It was a SRO crowd — many long-time Andrew Emlen fans — from his Lewis & Clark gigs with Jeffrey Reynolds and  his many concerts with his Willapa Hills Group — at least 20 years’ worth here at our house in Oysterville.  And he only gets better!

They did a medley of Mary Garvey tunes — how I wish she had been here!  And there were tributes to early immigrant groups — the Swedes and the Finns (with one song by Andrew in Finnish!)

And, cheeky me — after they were finished I asked if they’d do one more request — the Cathlamet/Skamokawa song.  Fabulous!

Me – requesting one last song!

And then we ate and ate!  And visited and visited.  What a lovely afternoon and evening! Good friends, great music, wonderful food!  How lucky I am!
