So Many Choices!

Thirty-one Years and CountingI wonder when the phrase “summer vacation” became an oxymoron? Even for those of us who are “retired” (and what do you call a one-word oxymoron?) activities here at the beach have escalated to the point of dizziness and nosebleeds. In July alone we have more “annuals” than you can shake a stick at.

For starters there are: Sandsations (31st annual), July 15-18 Music in the Gardens (10th annual), July 18; Clamshell Railroad Days (30th annual, July 18-19; The NPRA Sanctioned Rodeo (70th annual), July 25-26.

Clamshell RR Days ButtonThen there are the Waikiki Beach Concerts happening July 11th and July 25th to say nothing of the nearby activities like the and the “maybe annuals” or at least they have a familiar ring to them like the Tokeland North Cove Woodfest, July 25-26, plus the Willapa Harbor Festival in Raymond beginning the last day of the month and spilling over into August!

rodeoAdd to all of the above the weddings and birthdays and picnics and other summer festivities and the month is full to overflowing!  And what about the spontaneous summertime fun — a swim in the bay or an evening sail with your sweetheart?  A bike ride up to the Point or a hike along the high tideline?  So many choices… So many musts… See you there!

Don’t forget kayaking! Dave loves going to Sand Island or Long Island! People can be as busy as they like. My favorite is a good summer read!
