Unique Wall Covering

     Since March of 2010, I’ve posted my blog every day.  Tomorrow I can’t do that, or so I’ve been told.  The message went like this:  “Due to server upgrades on Monday, any site edits you make that day may be lost. Please wait until Tuesday to make website changes or to blog.”
     I’m disappointed that my long record of regular posting will be broken, but I have yet to find a way to argue with the cyberspace gurus.  So I’m posting this blog just before bedtime (which is pretty early!) and it will have to count as my August 15^th blog.
     Bedtime is probably a totally appropriate posting time since my subject is blankets!  More specifically, blankets as wallpaper.  Even more specifically, French army blankets as wallpaper!
     It all has to do with our neighbor Bradley’s remodel of the W. D. Taylor House across the street.  Right now the worker bees are beginning to configure the new kitchen which means a ten foot addition to the south side of the building.  It’s very exciting.  But even more exciting is what’s happening inside the house, out of view of the public.
     The master bathroom has been totally redone and now the master bedroom is being re-“papered.”  Bradley says he saw the perfect fabric for the project but the $200-per-yard gave him pause.  So he looked at surplus stores and found that French army blankets were a very close facsimile at a fraction of the cost.
     The best part to my way of thinking is that these are the last of the French army blankets.  There are no more to import to the United States or to any other location.  Fabulous!  Only in Oysterville!  And only at Bradley’s W.D. Taylor house!
