Oysterville Guest House

     Too soon this month is coming to an end.  It’s been an unusual one, even for us and even for Oysterville, and all because of our friend, Linda.
       We’ve known Linda for many years.  We met her through our mutual friend, the late Larry Weathers, and we’ve had numbers of adventures with her.  We’ve visited museums and art galleries, tried new restaurants, attended concerts and plays, and gone on hikes and garden tours.  Once, we even met her for an overnight stay in far-off New Hampshire!
     So when she announced to us back in the dark days of winter that she had decided to rent the Oysterville Guest House for the month of July, we weren’t even surprised.  It seemed like a Linda thing to do.
     Throughout her month here, she has hosted a series of friends and relatives at the Guest House.  They have come by twos and threes and each group has stayed for several days.  Linda has been a perpetual tour guide, a role that she seems to suit her to perfection.
     Nyel and I have had a more-or-less open invitation to join the fun whenever we can, and we have loved being included.  In a way, it’s been like a constant house party without the responsibility – not our house; not our party.  Plus we’ve met some great people and even been to ‘new’ places right here on the Peninsula – another reminder that visitors see our world differently than we do!
     Linda, too, is lamenting that the end is in sight and jokingly said that she’ll have to plan on two months next summer!  Don’t we wish!
