This is one of those “if it weren’t for our small community” blogs. Again! This one has to do with the Oysterville Schoolhouse Lecture Series and the Snap Fitness Center in Long Beach and Larkin Stentz of Green Angel Gardens Sustainability Center also in Long Beach and, ultimately, with Nanci Main of Nanci and Jimella’s Café and Cocktails in Klipsan . Or so I hope – the Nanci Main part, that is.
First of all, I promised Diane Buttrell, organizer extraordinaire of the Oysterville Schoolhouse Lecture Series, that I would get something in the paper about each of the Fall 2015 talks. Last week was the wolf-dog talk and, somehow, I thought that was the last of the series and I was done. Wrong!
Yesterday at Snap Fitness Nyel saw Larkin Stentz who asked him about Nanci Main’s upcoming lecture. For those who live here, that conversation won’t come as a surprise – Larkin knows Nyel is from Oysterville and would, of course, assume that anyone from Oysterville knows all the details about the Lecture Series, right? No… Wrong!
Nyel did know, however, that I thought I was through with my articles in the paper. This morning bright and early he remembered to mention his conversation and I remembered that, yes, Nanci is scheduled to talk about Peace Trees in Vietnam! Next week on Thursday, December 3rd. At ten ayem at the Oysterville Schoolhouse!
I still have time to write that article and get it into the December 2nd paper. Not ideal timing-wise, but… First, of course, I need to talk to Nanci. If you see her first, tell her to call me…
We’ve been to all of the lectures and have really enjoyed them!
