Nick and Family
Nick died yesterday evening at ten past five. Young enough to be my grandson. Born on my birthday. Our birthday. We were the February 28th Oysterville Twins. Separated by half a century plus a year.
Early on during this final journey Nick has taken, his mom expressed the hope that he could leave a legacy – perhaps of his photographs. She talked with him about the possibility of an exhibit of his work, maybe at the Oysterville School. Perhaps that will still happen.

Nick
But, no worries if it doesn’t. Nick’s legacy is already assured. His FaceBook page (Nicholas James Wilson-Codega) with its dozens (scores, really, or maybe hundreds) of messages from his friends is the most outstanding tribute imaginable. He lives on in the hearts of so many – the memories and the photographs shared in the last few days, alone, are heartwarming.
The expressions run gamut – serious, silly, personal, public. They are a paean to Nick’s spirit and memory. He will continue to be a part of so many livcs, enriching our spirits, expanding our awareness, tickling our funny bones and giving us serious thoughts to consider – a fabulous legacy indeed!
Very nice sentiment. I knew his sister, but only knew of him. What I did know was he was well liked by all and a very well rounded for such a young man. Prayers for peace to his family and friends.
I would personally be honored to help with an exhibit of his work. I know many of us would like to make this come to life. RIP, my friend. <3
Why? I know how. But why? So young and so much still left to do. Too sad! Thank you for sharing Sydney.
Thank you for sharing – I feel his Mother’s pain and pray for her .
I worked with Nick at Best Buy. Our birthday’s were one day apart. He was a kind, charming, sweet guy, and I will do my best to carry on those aspects in his memory.
